West Central District 4A

Marlon Murray of Highline won the 100-meter dash in 11.24 seconds as the West Central District 3A meet concluded Saturday, May 19 at Mount Tahoma in Tacoma.

Mount Rainier's Ryan Prentice placed third in the 1,600-meter run in 4:26.73 and Highline was third in the 1,600 relay in 3:27.34.

Vincente Cordova of Evergreen captured first place in the high jump at 6-2.

No girls from the Highline Times/Des Moines News area broke into the top three at the West Central District 3A meet.

Tri District 2B

Evergreen Lutheran of Des Moines enjoyed a banner day at the West Central District class 2B meet held at Edmonds Stadium.

The girls took third place as a team with 72.60 points, led by the first place finish of Ashley Daniels in the shot put at 34-06.

On the boys side, Evergreen Lutheran came in sixth with 58 points.

Daniel Kurbis won the shot put at 43-04 and the discus at 130-05.

Christian Faith finished second with 97 points. Kenny Brown won the 400 in 53.52 and Dalton Cuthbert was first in the 3,200 in 10:30.43. Christian Faith also won the 400 relay in 46.45.
